~Plug is cracked, torn, or damaged
~Growth (children) or significant weight change
~You feel that your earplugs are no longer protecting your hearing, or are not sealing

Earmold Care
Custom hearing aid earmolds and hearing protection earplugs need to be cleaned periodically. Clean with an antibacterial liquid dish soap or earmold disinfectant cleaner. Rinse thoroughly with water; dry completely before inserting into ears.
An optional method is to use an ultrasonic cleaner.
Cleaning will help to reduce itching, bacteria, odors, and discoloration caused by earwax and body acidity.
Hearing Aid Earmold Replacement
It is time to replace a hearing aid earmold when:
~The earmold has feedback
~Growth (children)
~Significant weight change
~Purchasing a new hearing aid
~Earmold is torn or damaged
~Earmold emits an odor that does not disperse when cleaned
Tubing Replacement
Earmold tubing, that becomes yellow, cracked or hard, must be replaced. Tubing should be replaced every six months, or sooner. Moisture accumulates in the bend of the tube and can affect the performance of the hearing aid.
Never remove the mold by pulling on the tube.
